How to convert inductance

Inductance is measured in henries. Coils and chokes in circuits are usually millihenries, microhenries or nanohenries.

Every inductance unit is a fixed multiple of one base unit, the H. To convert a value, multiply it by the size of the starting unit and divide by the size of the target unit. For example, to convert mH to µH, multiply by 1. To go the other way, divide by 1.

The converter above does this for you and shows the exact formula under the result.

Worked examples

10 mH = 1 µH10 × 1 = 1 µH.
25 µH = 0.025 mH25 × 0.001 = 0.025 mH.
5 H = 5 mH5 × 1 = 5 mH.
50 nH = 0.050 µH50 × 0.001 = 0.050 µH.

Frequently asked questions

How many µH is 1 mH?

One millihenry (mH) is 1,000 microhenries (µH).

How do I convert mH to µH?

Multiply the value in mH by 1 to get µH. For example, 10 mH = 1 µH.

How many µH is 1 mH?

1 mH = 1 µH, and 1 µH = 0.001 mH.

Does this inductance converter work offline?

Yes. After the page has loaded once, all calculations run in your browser, so it keeps working without an internet connection.
