How to convert magnetomotive force

Magnetomotive force drives magnetic flux through a magnetic circuit, much like voltage drives current. The SI unit is the ampere-turn, and the gilbert is the older CGS unit.

Every magnetomotive force unit is a fixed multiple of one base unit, the A·t. To convert a value, multiply it by the size of the starting unit and divide by the size of the target unit. For example, to convert Gb to A·t, multiply by 0.7957747155. To go the other way, divide by 0.7957747155.

The converter above does this for you and shows the exact formula under the result.

Worked examples

10 Gb = 7.9577472 A·t10 × 0.7957747155 = 7.957747155 A·t.
25 A·t = 31.415927 Gb25 × 1.256637061 = 31.41592654 Gb.
5 kA·t = 5,000 A·t5 × 1,000 = 5,000 A·t.
50 abA·t = 500 A·t50 × 10 = 500 A·t.
