How to convert power
Power is the rate of using energy. Appliances and engines are rated in watts, kilowatts and horsepower, while heating and air conditioning often use BTU per hour.
Every power unit is a fixed multiple of one base unit, the W. To convert a value, multiply it by the size of the starting unit and divide by the size of the target unit. For example, to convert hp to kW, multiply by 0.7456998716. To go the other way, divide by 0.7456998716.
