How to convert torque

Torque is a turning force. Engine and wrench specifications use newton-meters (N·m) or pound-feet (lbf·ft), and some tools still show kilogram-force meters.

Every torque unit is a fixed multiple of one base unit, the N·m. To convert a value, multiply it by the size of the starting unit and divide by the size of the target unit. For example, to convert lbf·ft to N·m, multiply by 1.355817948. To go the other way, divide by 1.355817948.

The converter above does this for you and shows the exact formula under the result.
