How to convert dynamic viscosity
Dynamic viscosity describes how a fluid resists flow. Water is about 1 centipoise (1 mPa·s) at 20 °C, and engine oils are tens to hundreds of centipoise.
Every dynamic viscosity unit is a fixed multiple of one base unit, the Pa·s. To convert a value, multiply it by the size of the starting unit and divide by the size of the target unit. For example, to convert cP to Pa·s, multiply by 0.001. To go the other way, divide by 0.001.
The converter above does this for you and shows the exact formula under the result.

Frequently asked questions
Is a centipoise the same as mPa·s?
Yes. One centipoise equals exactly one millipascal-second.
How do I convert cP to Pa·s?
Multiply the value in cP by 0.001 to get Pa·s. For example, 10 cP = 0.010 Pa·s.
How many Pa·s is 1 cP?
1 cP = 0.001 Pa·s, and 1 Pa·s = 1 cP.
Does this dynamic viscosity converter work offline?
Yes. After the page has loaded once, all calculations run in your browser, so it keeps working without an internet connection.
